Mark 4
(Jay talked about the importance of having a word recorded, because the person giving the word will not remember it, and because it is beneficial for the receiver to listen to it over and over.)
Sermon message: Text: Galatians 5:16-26. We have to live over our flesh. When you fast, some things manifest, and some things of the flesh come out.
When we walk in the Spirit, we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh (Galatians5:16). The flesh is your will. Most people get verse 16 backward. They think if they control the flesh, then they will get closer to God. We need God’s power to live above the flesh. The flesh and the Spirit conflict with each other (Galatians 5:17). If you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law (Galatians 5:18). We are under the law if we try to make something happen and by trying to work it out. Galatians 5:19-21 tell about those things that are the works of the flesh. Not inheriting the kingdom of God does not mean that they are going to hell. You are only responsible for the light that you have been given, and you are to seek more light.
Those who are Christ’s crucify the flesh. Galatians 5:24 says that those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh. Take an honest look at your life. What is coming out of you? Is it the work of the Spirit or the work of the flesh? You may find areas you need to work on, when you answer that question. The book of James says that we are not to deceive ourselves. Not everything that you deal with is a demon or from the devil. Sometimes it is just our flesh.
Walk in the Spirit, and you will not do the works of the flesh. Choose to walk in the Spirit. Whatever you are feeding on, is what you will get- the Spirit or the flesh.
What do you do when you sin? Do you keep focusing on the sin, or do you repent immediately? Look to Jesus and what He did rather than focusing on your mess-up. We are made worthy through Christ Jesus. Do not beat yourself up with what you have done.
If we are born-again, we are crucified and resurrected with Christ. Our flesh died at the cross. We see flesh everyday. We are reminded of it by what we do and do not do. It will tell you that it is not crucified, but our flesh is crucified by Jesus. We have to believe by faith that our flesh is crucified.
We can choose how we will react to other people. We are crucified and resurrected with Christ. Focus on walking in the Spirit and some of those flesh things will take care of themselves. We have been trained to put the flesh under. We are not to bear our cross. Jesus told His Old Covenant men to bear their crosses, but nothing of that is mentioned in the New Testament after that. We do not have to bear our crosses. Believe by faith that you are dead.
Romans 8:14 says that those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God, heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ. Romans 6:4 states that we are buried with Him through baptism. Romans 7 is about Paul’s struggle in himself, but do not let that define you. That is about what he used to be. It is about the law, but is followed by chapter 8, which is about the Christ who delivers us. We do not have to dress up (fix up) the flesh because it is dead. We must consider that we are dead because of what we believe. Fasting may clarify things, but there must be a balance in that, so we do not get into a ditch on the other side of it. Focus of the fact that we have been crucified and resurrected with Him.
Sept 27
In the beginning God gave Adam dominion over the earth (Genesis 1:26). When Adam and Eve sinned they turned there rights over to the devil. Jesus came to this earth to die and take back the earth from satan. When Jesus died He stripped satan of his authority over the earth. Luke 10:18,19 Jesus gave us dominion over the enemy. Ephesians 1:17-22 All things are under the feet of Jesus. We need to understand who we are and what we are and the authority we have in Jesus. Satan is like a roaring lion, he isn’t one but he likes to make people think that he is strong and mighty, but since God made us one with Jesus we have the power over him. When we walk in authority, we are walking in what God gave us.
There are four confessions that we as Christians need to use: 1.) The confession of salvation. 2.) The confession of forgiveness. 3.) The confession of the Word. 4.) The confession of rebuke. We are designed to rebuke things that come against us. Death and life are in the power of the tongue. Isaiah 54:17 is a verse that we can quote when things come against us. Jesus rebuked the devil, a fever, the storm on the Sea of Galilee, and the fig tree. Jesus transferred the authority to us to rebuke sickness, lack or anything that comes against God’s will. James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you.
James 3:1-6. Our tongue is the wheel of our life. It is important that we are speaking the correct things so that God’s Word can work for us. If our words do not line up with the Word of God then we will have disaster. Mark 11:23 says that we are to speak unto our mountain. It doesn’t say to think it but to speak it. Sometimes we may have to change some of our programs and the way that we think so that we speak correctly according to the Word. It doesn’t matter what circumstance we are in, whether good or bad, we need to speak consistently and correctly.
James 4:6,7. Submit means to rank or arrange under. Submission comes before authority. Submission is not: 1.)easy – it involves suffering, not getting my way (1 Peter 2:13). 2.) agreement. 3.) weakness – meekness is not weakness. 4.) forced. Submission to God starts in children. Proverbs 23: 13, 14 ; Proverbs 22:15; Ephesians 6:4. Humility is knowing who you are in Christ. The more humble you become the more grace you will receive and the more grace you receive the more God will use you.
James 4:7. You need to submit to God first, then you will be able to resist the devil. You cannot resist the devil without being in submission to God. You cannot make someone submit to you. A person has to submit themselves. Submission is not when two people agree. Submission is when you do not agree with everything the person in authority does but you respect the place. If you disrespect the place of authority then you disrespect God. When God chooses that is all the qualification that you need.
Text: James 3:2 & Proverbs 18:21. What comes out of the mouth comes from the heart and has a root in the mind. What will come out of your mouth is what is in you. It is important that in pressure situations we only speak the Word of God. The only thing that is Truth is the Word of God, not other people’s opinions. Our tongue guides our body through space and affects our thought life. We need to love the principle in Proverbs 18:21. If we do not like where we are at in life we need to change our thinking. 1.) Negative thinking produces negative words which produce negative actions. 2.) The Word of God produces positive thinking which produces positive words which produces positive actions.
Our tongue or the words we speak controls our life. James 3:2 says that we offend people but if we can control our tongue then we can control our whole body or being. Proverbs 18:21 also says that there is life or death in the power of the tongue. God spoke life or light when there was darkness. It is important for us to speak life. 3 John 4 says that God doesn’t have any greater joy than to see His children walk in truth, which means speak His words or life. It is time to bring more light to our businesses, families, relationships, marriages and the people around us.
Faith comes by hearing and sometimes we need to hear ourselves preach words of faith. Romans 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth and in thy heart; that is the word of faith which we preach. In order for the word of faith to work for us we have to get it into our heart and it has to be on our lips. Sometimes we need to speak our faith. You can put God’s Word to work for you. How do we get the Word or the light into us? 1.) You need to go digging into the Word of God. Get the knowledge (2Peter 1:2&3). 2.) We need to take the knowledge from our head down to our heart.
Confession is speaking the Word of God into the situation. In the beginning God spoke “Light be and light was.” What you confess on a daily basis is what your life will be. If you speak confusion, you will have confusion. We are here to speak life and the Word of God. If you are speaking negative words they need to leave since they do not line up with the Word of God. The Word needs to be spoken first, then we will see the results. Ephesians 6 talks about putting on the whole armor of God. Putting on our armor is meditating on the Word of God.
Most times we want to have a victory without going through a battle but it doesn’t work that way. If you want a great victory, you need a great battle. 1 Corinthians 10:13 tells us that whatever we go through is common to man. We do not have a special trial that no one else has ever gone through. That is the devil’s strategy to get us to think that we are the only one going through this trial, and that is a lie. There is always a way of escape for whatever we are going through. Every time we go through a trial we have the opportunity for victory, to glorify God, to develop patience, for blessing and for joy. Nehemiah 8:10 says that the joy of the Lord is our strength. Joy is a choice.
Galatians 2:20 – I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me. If you are going to live in Christ you have to live by faith. The key to walking in the power of God is being filled with the Holy Spirit and living in Christ, then miracles will happen. Jesus walked in the power of God by walking in love. Faith needs to be birthed out of love for it to profit anything. Your heart needs to be the good soil in order for it to produce anything. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Love is the soul, faith is the seed and fruit will produce from that.
Prophetic words were spoken over several individuals in the church. Also Sydney talks about the Armada Network and what it’s all about. He requests that we pray for three specific things: 1.) Pray for open doors. 2.) Pray for finances. 3.) Pray for workers to go through the open doors. The doers of the Word are the people that get results. A set of wrong beliefs will lead to disaster. The secret to life is the fear of God. The fear of God will keep you from lawlessness but the love of God will keep you from legalism. The fear of God is an awareness, respect, awe, and honor of God. It is not fear of man, death or judgement. 1 John 4:18 says that perfect love casts out fear. Casualness in attitide towards God is a sin.
Pastor Jay taught on Mark 11. Jesus cursed the fig tree then in v.23 said when you speak to the mountain and believe in your heart and do not doubt You will Have what you say. Jesus immediately goes on to whatsoever you desire when you pray and ask you shall receive it. The key is in verse 22. Jesus said ” Have the faith of GOD. We understand faith when we talk about being born again and about going to heaven to be with Jesus but then it stops there. We are to use faith in all ares of our life since it pleases God. Heb. 11:6 There is man’s faith (natural faith) and there is God’s faith ( supernatural faith ). We are shocked when our faith in natural things lets us down and then surprised when a prayer is answered. Faith is simple. Believe that you receive and you shall have!!
There is a connection between releasing the power of God and speaking. It takes true faith, power of the tongue and unity with God for miracles to happen. In the book of James it talks about the tongue being like a rudder, but what empowers the tongue is what is in the heart. All miracles are to show the power of God. When we hear God telling us to do something, no matter how strange it seems, when we obey our miracle will happen. When we learn to discern by the Holy Spirit on things to do miracles will happen.
God made man so He can have fellowhip. We aren’t just His favorite or smartest pet, instead we are created in His image and likeness. We are the offspring of God. We are not just adopted into His family, we have His DNA. In John 15 it says that we cannot bear fruit unless we abide in Jesus. How do we abide in Jesus? Abiding in Jesus means spending time with Him. How much you love the Word of God is how much you love God. When Jesus was on the earth He got up morning by morning to meet with God. Jesus increased in wisdom , knowledge, stature and favor with God and man. Are you too busy to meet with God? If you make a habit of meeting with God morning by morning, God will open your spiritual ears. He will show and tell you things to come.
We have a command from Jesus to go into all the world and preach the Gospel. If we aren’t doing what God told us to do then we are in sin. It is time the church and believers wake up according to 1 Corinthians 15:34 and Ephesians 5:14. The heart and soul of evangelism is abiding in Jesus(John 15:5). A believer cannot bear fruit if he isn’t abiding in Jesus. It is the will of God that we are productive in evangelism.
In Luke 8:14, Jesus gave a parable about four different types of soils. The four types of soils represent four kinds of hearts and there is a hidden key in each one. The third kind of soil is the thorny soil. The reason there is thorny soil is because there are weeds. The thorny soil is soil of the soul. Once a person becomes saved his spirit is reborn not his soul. Once the spirit is reborn it cannot sin. The way we weed the garden of our heart is by getting our soul saved. It is a spiritual progress.
Text:Luke 5:12 A man full of leprosy questions Jesus willingness to heal him. He knew Jesus could but wasn’t sure if Jesus was willing. So many Christians are in the same shoes as the leper. they know God can heal but aren’t sure he wants to. Pastor Jay brings out scriptural reasons that it is God’s will to heal us right now #1 God’s Word is medicine Prov. 4:20-22. #2 A Strong Spirit will sustain you Prov.18:14 #3 God’s original plan in the original creation Gen.1&2 #4 God’s will is the same in Heaven & the world to come Rev. 21:1-4 Matt. 6:10 #5 The origin of sickness and disease Rom. 5:11,12 Rom. 6:23 #6 Sickness is the work of the Devil. Job 2:7, Ps. 41:8, Luke 13:12-17
We are one with God. We are the same specie’s God is. We were created in his likeness and image. God wants to fellowship with us. Prayer is not a one way street. We are to quiet ourselves and listen to the Holy Spirit. Rom. 8:14-17. The Sons of God are led by His Spirit. There is communication and fellowship. We are spirit and the Holy Spirit searches our hearts and reveals his will for us. The Spirit guides and teaches through His Word and Spirit. He does not communicate with us through circumstances, He communicates by his Spirit to our spirit. Dwight gave his testimony how God led him by His Spirit.
Gen. 2 God took Adam’s rib and made a helpmate. The hebrew word for rib means “side” God took the female side of Adam and created women. God has both male and female attributes. When we are in unity with our husband or wife we are one in our decisions. We are in tune with each other and then can line up with His Spirit and become a powerful force in the earth. A threefold coard is not easily broken. When we agree in prayer together the word says He will do it. Matt. 18:19 Dwight shares his own personal expeirances when he and his wife did not agree and things did not work out good. When they agreed miracles happened. Glory to God!!
It all begins in the book of Beginnings ( Genesis ). Many times in the first chapter it repeats ” God said ” God. was setting an example for us on how much our words mean. Our words carry life and death. Prov. 18:21. God’s perfect plan and will are revealed to us in the garden. He created man in his likeness and image. What does it mean to be created in the likeness of God. An egg is a great example of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. If we are God’s children (sons) and He is our Father and we have been born again, we are a part of Him. This makes us like Him as we were created ” In His Likeness “. We have authority over this world and things in this world. We are the same species – if you will – that God is.
2 Tim. 2:15 We are not only to read the Word of God but to study it. Studying the Word gives us revelation. God reveals himself to us through His Word. It pleases God when we study. We are approved. The Strong’s concordance and e-sword are very useful tools to study the Word.
God’s will to Heal. We are conviced because of scripture that it is God’s will to heal. In order to be scripturally correct we must have scripture. Paul reasoned in the synagogues but he did it with scripture. We do not go by stories, our own expirences or others but by the Word of God. Reason #1. God’s Word is medicine. Prov. 4:22 The word health actually means medicine. If we get enough of word long enough we will be healed. Ps. 107 says God sent his word and Healed them. Reason #2 A Strong Spirit. Prov. 18:14 tells us a strong spirit will take on an infirmity. Many times the Word tells us to be strong, nowhere does it tell us to be weak. God wants us to be strong.

Jesus Three Fold Victory For The Church
For A Purpose
Staying with the plan and on the path
Vision and Faith
Three Types of Confession
Pastor Dale, encouraging the church body to not despise small beginnings, tells about the Armada as a subsidiary of the CWI ministry. Using John 15:5 and 7 and I John 5:14 and 15 he teaches on having confidence when we pray because we know God’s will, so He hears us. He answers because He hears us. We can pray confidently because we abide in the Word. Fruit is the by-product of abiding. Ps. 66:18 tells us that God doesn’t hear us if we have iniquity in our hearts. Andrew Murray said that it’s easier to not have your prayers answered than it is to allow God to change you into a person who can pray prayers that get answers. If you don’t know it is the will of God (for healing, etc.), then you can’t pray with confidence. Don’t let the lack of results to break down your confidence. Be like Jesus. Run the race to win (I Cor. 9:24). (Experiences shared: Ron Bruce in the Ukraine with a grandmother and her granddaughter; Richard Roberts receiving university with huge debt; Pastor Dale with asthma and youth pastor’s wife with migraine headaches; Pastor Dale’s grandfather having 3 strokes and going to heaven.)
We are rebuked by the Word. Do you want to be a wise person? Then do what Jesus did. The storms of life come to all, so build your life on the Word. Grab it, and don’t let go by spending time in the Word and in His Spirit. Your victory is the victory of those you will touch. Paul and Silas’s victory opened the jail doors and broke the bands on all the prisoners, and even the jail keeper received victory. Your victories will overflow in abundance to other people. You will be able to comfort others with the same comfort He comforts you. The conviction of the Holy Spirit will guide and control your integrity. Conviction of the Holy Spirit will cause you to repent, but it also establishes you so that you won’t back off. The presence, the power, and the conviction of the Holy Spirit are what we need to cut off, to finish, and to love others. Jesus told the woman caught in adultery, “Go, and sin no more.”
Listen as Pastor Dale preaches on abiding in Christ from John 15. This sermon is rich in truth from the Word of God and from the many examples of experiences in Pastor Dale’s life. (Also Is. 50:4; Heb. 12:1) Here are a few nuggets of truth: The Word prunes and changes us. Pruning brings more fruit, as well as abiding in Him. We can know what to do by spending time with God. Team up with Jesus in your business. He will tell you what to do and when to do it. He will guide you into success and victory when you face an obstacle. We know God’s will by His Word. You can’t determine the will of God by circumstances and experiences. God prunes you before He builds you up. You have to lay aside every weight ( that’s not necessarily a sin, but something that you must put down in order to pick up what God wants you to pick up) and every sin. You must deal with the comfortable and private sin in your life. Get serious about letting God be Lord over every part of your life. Only you can make your consecration and holiness. God chastens His children, so it must be something unbelievers can’t experience, and it is, because He chastens our spirit. Accidents, sickness, and other physical attacks are not God’s chastening. Pastor Dale’s experiences shared: salesman job and homosexual; “I am your paycheck.”; Vicent van Gough; Andorra- butcher knife; church elder – 5 beachheads; assistant pastor and special guest speaker.
