Abiding in Christ: Pruning Part 1

Saturday April 10, 2010
Speaker:

Listen as Pastor Dale preaches on abiding in Christ from John 15. This sermon is rich in truth from the Word of God and from the many examples of experiences in Pastor Dale’s life. (Also Is. 50:4; Heb. 12:1) Here are a few nuggets of truth: The Word prunes and changes us. Pruning brings more fruit, as well as abiding in Him. We can know what to do by spending time with God. Team up with Jesus in your business. He will tell you what to do and when to do it. He will guide you into success and victory when you face an obstacle. We know God’s will by His Word. You can’t determine the will of God by circumstances and experiences. God prunes you before He builds you up. You have to lay aside every weight ( that’s not necessarily a sin, but something that you must put down in order to pick up what God wants you to pick up) and every sin. You must deal with the comfortable and private sin in your life. Get serious about letting God be Lord over every part of your life. Only you can make your consecration and holiness. God chastens His children, so it must be something unbelievers can’t experience, and it is, because He chastens our spirit. Accidents, sickness, and other physical attacks are not God’s chastening. Pastor Dale’s experiences shared: salesman job and homosexual; “I am your paycheck.”; Vicent van Gough; Andorra- butcher knife; church elder – 5 beachheads; assistant pastor and special guest speaker.

Abiding in Christ: Pruning Part 2

Saturday April 10, 2010
Speaker:

We are rebuked by the Word. Do you want to be a wise person? Then do what Jesus did. The storms of life come to all, so build your life on the Word. Grab it, and don’t let go by spending time in the Word and in His Spirit. Your victory is the victory of those you will touch. Paul and Silas’s victory opened the jail doors and broke the bands on all the prisoners, and even the jail keeper received victory. Your victories will overflow in abundance to other people. You will be able to comfort others with the same comfort He comforts you. The conviction of the Holy Spirit will guide and control your integrity. Conviction of the Holy Spirit will cause you to repent, but it also establishes you so that you won’t back off. The presence, the power, and the conviction of the Holy Spirit are what we need to cut off, to finish, and to love others. Jesus told the woman caught in adultery, “Go, and sin no more.”

Abiding in Him

Speaker:

Pastor Dale, encouraging the church body to not despise small beginnings, tells about the Armada as a subsidiary of the CWI ministry. Using John 15:5 and 7 and I John 5:14 and 15 he teaches on having confidence when we pray because we know God’s will, so He hears us. He answers because He hears us. We can pray confidently because we abide in the Word. Fruit is the by-product of abiding. Ps. 66:18 tells us that God doesn’t hear us if we have iniquity in our hearts. Andrew Murray said that it’s easier to not have your prayers answered than it is to allow God to change you into a person who can pray prayers that get answers. If you don’t know it is the will of God (for healing, etc.), then you can’t pray with confidence. Don’t let the lack of results to break down your confidence. Be like Jesus. Run the race to win (I Cor. 9:24). (Experiences shared: Ron Bruce in the Ukraine with a grandmother and her granddaughter; Richard Roberts receiving university with huge debt; Pastor Dale with asthma and youth pastor’s wife with migraine headaches; Pastor Dale’s grandfather having 3 strokes and going to heaven.)
