The Ministry of the Believer

Sunday July 1, 2012
Speaker:
Tithe: 2 Cor. 8:1-5   Pastor Jay challenged us to not lose our joy when we go through trials. The church in Macedonia did not lose their joy during great trial and extreme poverty. They were still generous in their giving. We need to give ourselves first to God and His joy is our strength. Its not the money amount that we give to God it’s the condition of our heart.
Message: Text Mark 1: 9-39 Pastor Jay brought out 5 points that a believer needs to be fulfilling in their ministry. (1.) Spending time with the Father (2.) Compassion for people (3.) Working with the Father (4.) Giving up our own selves (5.) Being full of Joy
If a believer does not spend time with the Father they cannot truly help others. Jesus said that ” He does not do anything except what He sees the Father do.” The only way we can find out what Gos wants us to do is by fellowshipping with Him. We need to learn to give our own desires for the Father’s desire. Mark 1:40 & 41 Jesus was moved with compassion. We are all called to evangelize but in order to evangelize we need compassion for people’s souls. By spending time with the Father He will give us compassion. Matt. 14:14-20 The 12 disciples worked with Jesus and were blessed. We must work with Jesus and we also will be blessed. Mark 16: 19 -20 Powerful things happen when our steps are in line with God’s steps. Power equals joy & joy equals power If we lose our joy we lose being filled with the Holy Spirit. John 16:22-24  & Acts 13:52

God’s Rest

Sunday July 8, 2012
Speaker:
July 8, 2012
Tithe: Mark 12:41-44  Jesus looked at the heart of the poor widow women. One thing that exposed the Heart to what it really is Is in Giving. God is a jealous God and wants every part of us. Do we give or commit everuthing to God or does something get in the way? God can work in us if we give Him our all.
Message: God’s Rest    Text Mark 4: 9-41
Our Hearts are 4 types of soils – Hard-packed, rocky, thorny and good. We all want to believe we are the good soil. Which type of soil is our heart? Fear and worry are the opposite of God’s Rest. We are to cast our cares on Jesus. The storms of Life will come but in the midst of them we can remain in God’s rest just like Jesus slept through the storm on the sea of Galilee. When our heart is the good soil we will Hear the Word, Believe the Word, and Do the Word.

Faith in Jesus

Sunday July 29, 2012
Speaker:
Pastor Jay taught on Luke 5:1-9 for the tithe and offering message. In verse 1 it says that the people pressed on Jesus to hear the words of Jesus. When we hunger for God’s word miracles happen. Also if we follow God with our life He can do His will & many people’s lives can be changed.
Message: Faith in Jesus
Pastor Jay will be teaching a series on God’s will to heal. This message is a preface for the series. Who is Jesus? Jesus is the Son of God. When Jesus walked on this earth He was 100% man and 100% God at exactly the same time. Several scriptures on the human side of Jesus, Luke 9:58: Luke 1:80: Luke 2:52 and John 19:28. Also Scripture or the Diety of Jesus, John 8:30,34 & 40-53 ; 1 John 4:15 ; 5:1 ; Colossians 1:12
Jesus came to earth but now sits at the right hand of the Father. He is our mediator and umpire between man and Holy God and because of that in Colossians 1:22 God can look at us as Holy, unblameable & unreprovable in His sight.

God’s will to Heal Part 1

Sunday August 12, 2012
Speaker:
Tithe and Offering: Psalms 1:1&2
As we meditate on the Word of God we become like a tree planted by the rivers of water. Meditating renews our mind & we begin to think like God. Meditating makes our faith rise & we will begin to grasp that whatever we do shall prosper.
Message: Text Luke 5:12  The leper was wondering if it is God’s will to Heal & Jesus said ” I WILL,  BE THOU CLEAN “
Many people today wonder if God’s is willing to heal, most know that He can but are not sure if it is his timing. We are able to find out & know what God’s will is through scripture & the Holy Spirit. Rom. 12:2 Jesus bought and paid for our sicknesses and diseases when He died on the cross. Nobody really questions whether or not its Gods will for them to become born again neither should we question whether or not it is God’s will to heal us from sickness. God is able and He is willing to heal all  of our sicknesses and diseases right now. He wants us to be healed and stay healed.

God’s will to Heal Part 2

Sunday August 19, 2012
Speaker:

God’s will to Heal. We are conviced because of scripture that it is God’s will to heal. In order to be scripturally correct we must have scripture. Paul reasoned in the synagogues but he did it with scripture. We do not go by stories, our own expirences or others but by the Word of God. Reason #1. God’s Word is medicine. Prov. 4:22 The word health actually means medicine. If we get enough of word long enough we will be healed. Ps. 107 says God sent his word and Healed them. Reason #2 A Strong Spirit. Prov. 18:14 tells us a strong spirit will take on an infirmity. Many times the Word tells us to be strong, nowhere does it tell us to be weak. God wants us to be strong.

Text:Luke 5:12 A man full of leprosy questions Jesus willingness to heal him. He knew Jesus could but wasn’t sure if Jesus was willing. So many Christians are in the same shoes as the leper. they know God can heal but aren’t sure he wants to. Pastor Jay brings out scriptural reasons that it is God’s will to heal us right now #1 God’s Word is medicine Prov. 4:20-22. #2 A Strong Spirit will sustain you Prov.18:14 #3 God’s original plan in the original creation Gen.1&2 #4 God’s will is the same in Heaven & the world to come Rev. 21:1-4 Matt. 6:10 #5 The origin of sickness and disease Rom. 5:11,12 Rom. 6:23 #6 Sickness is the work of the Devil. God’s Will to Heal Part 4

Sunday September 9, 2012
Speaker:
Text: Luke 5:12 A man full of leprosy came wondering if it Jesus’ will to Heal him. He answered it with ” I WILL BE THOU CLEAN ” Do not run away from a nugget of truth when you realize you have been believing a lie. When you question if it is God’s will to heal you question the very character of God. It is God’s will to Heal every time because of #7. His covenant of Healing  Ex. 15:23 The children of Israel murmured against Moses because of the bitter waters of Marah. God showed Moses a tree to cast into the water and the bitter water was made sweet. This scripture is prophetic. Jesus came and then died on a tree. The Lord made a statute and an ordinance and proved the children of Israel. He said if you will hear my voice and obey me I will not put the diseases of Egypt on you. I am the Lord who heals you ( Jehovah Rophe ) We are covenant people. God never changes. We are in the family of God (if we are born again). This applies to us today according to Rom. 2:28,29 and Gal. 3:7 and 26,27. We are the Seed of Abraham through Jesus.
#8 We are convinced it is God’s will to Heal because of the very names of God. He is called Jehovah-Jireh – “The Lord provides” Genesis 22:14. He is called Jehovah-Rophe :”The Lord who Heals” Ex.15:26. He is called Jehovah-Nissi ”  God my Banner”. Jehovah-M’kaddesh, Jehovah-Shalom, Jehovah-Tsidkenu, Jehovah-Shammah and Jehovah-Rohi. His names reveal who He is. He is for us not against us. He is the same forever and forever.

Basics of Faith

Sunday October 28, 2012
Speaker:

Pastor Jay taught on Mark 11. Jesus cursed the fig tree then in v.23 said when you speak to the mountain and believe in your heart and do not doubt You will Have what you say. Jesus immediately goes on to whatsoever you desire when you pray and ask you shall receive it. The key is in verse 22. Jesus said ” Have the faith of GOD. We understand faith when we talk about being born again and about going to heaven to be with Jesus but then it stops there. We are to use faith in all ares of our life since it pleases God. Heb. 11:6  There is man’s faith (natural faith) and there is God’s faith ( supernatural faith ). We are shocked when our faith in natural things lets us down and then surprised when a prayer is answered. Faith is simple. Believe that you receive and you shall have!!

Overcomers

Most times we want to have a victory without going through a battle but it doesn’t work that way. If you want a great victory, you need a great battle. 1 Corinthians 10:13 tells us that whatever we go through is common to man. We do not have a special trial that no one else has ever gone through. That is the devil’s strategy to get us to think that we are the only one going through this trial, and that is a lie. There is always a way of escape for whatever we are going through. Every time we go through a trial we have the opportunity for victory, to glorify God, to develop patience, for blessing and for joy. Nehemiah 8:10 says that the joy of the Lord is our strength. Joy is a choice.

The Voice of Your Confession

Sunday April 21, 2013
Speaker:

Confession is speaking the Word of God into the situation. In the beginning God spoke “Light be and light was.” What you confess on a daily basis is what your life will be. If you speak confusion, you will have confusion. We are here to speak life and the Word of God. If you are speaking negative words they need to leave since they do not line up with the Word of God. The Word needs to be spoken first, then we will see the results. Ephesians 6 talks about putting on the whole armor of God. Putting on our armor is meditating on the Word of God.

The Word of Faith Which We Preach

Sunday April 28, 2013
Speaker:

Faith comes by hearing and sometimes we need to hear ourselves preach words of faith. Romans 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth and in thy heart; that is the word of faith which we preach. In order for the word of faith to work for us we have to get it into our heart and it has to be on our lips. Sometimes we need to speak our faith. You can put God’s Word to work for you. How do we get the Word or the light into us? 1.) You need to go digging into the Word of God. Get the knowledge (2Peter 1:2&3). 2.) We need to take the knowledge from our head down to our heart.

The Power of the Tongue Part 1

Sunday May 12, 2013
Speaker:

Our tongue or the words we speak controls our life. James 3:2 says that we offend people but if we can control our tongue then we can control our whole body or being. Proverbs 18:21 also says that there is life or death in the power of the tongue. God spoke life or light when there was darkness. It is important for us to speak life. 3 John 4 says that God doesn’t have any greater joy than  to see His children walk in truth, which means speak His words or life. It is time to bring more light to our businesses, families, relationships, marriages and the people around us.

The Power of the Tongue Part 2

Sunday May 19, 2013
Speaker:

Text: James 3:2 & Proverbs 18:21. What comes out of the mouth comes from the heart and has a root in the mind. What will come out of your mouth is what is in you. It is important that in pressure situations we only speak the Word of God. The only thing that is Truth is the Word of God, not other people’s opinions. Our tongue guides our body through space and affects our thought life. We need to love the principle in Proverbs 18:21. If we do not like where we are at in life we need to change our thinking. 1.) Negative thinking produces negative words which produce negative actions. 2.) The Word of God produces positive thinking which produces positive words which produces positive actions.

The Power of the Tongue Part 3

Sunday June 2, 2013
Speaker:

James 3:1-6. Our tongue is the wheel of our life. It is important that we are speaking the correct things so that God’s Word can work for us. If our words do not line up with the Word of God then we will have disaster. Mark 11:23 says that we are to speak unto our mountain. It doesn’t say to think it but to speak it. Sometimes we may have to change some of our programs and the way that we think so that we speak correctly according to the Word. It doesn’t matter what circumstance we are in, whether good or bad, we need to speak consistently and correctly.

The Power of the Tongue Part 4

Sunday June 9, 2013
Speaker:

There are four confessions that we as Christians need to use: 1.) The confession of salvation. 2.) The confession of forgiveness. 3.) The confession of the Word. 4.) The confession of rebuke. We are designed to rebuke things that come against us. Death and life are in the power of the tongue. Isaiah 54:17 is a verse that we can quote when things come against us. Jesus rebuked the devil, a fever, the storm on the Sea of Galilee, and the fig tree. Jesus transferred the authority to us to rebuke sickness, lack or anything that comes against God’s will. James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Authority for the believer

Sunday July 7, 2013
Speaker:

In the beginning God gave Adam dominion over the earth (Genesis 1:26). When Adam and Eve sinned they turned there rights over to the devil. Jesus came to this earth to die and take back the earth from satan. When Jesus died He stripped satan of his authority over the earth. Luke 10:18,19 Jesus gave us dominion over the enemy. Ephesians 1:17-22 All things are under the feet of Jesus. We need to understand who we are and what we are and the authority we have in Jesus. Satan is like a roaring lion, he isn’t one but he likes to make people think that he is strong and mighty, but since God made us one with Jesus we have the power over him. When we walk in authority, we are walking in what God gave us.

Walking In The Spirit

Sunday January 10, 2016
Speaker:

(Jay talked about the importance of having a word recorded, because the person giving the word will not remember it, and because it is beneficial for the receiver to listen to it over and over.)

Sermon message: Text: Galatians 5:16-26. We have to live over our flesh. When you fast, some things manifest, and some things of the flesh come out.

When we walk in the Spirit, we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh (Galatians5:16). The flesh is your will. Most people get verse 16 backward. They think if they control the flesh, then they will get closer to God. We need God’s power to live above the flesh. The flesh and the Spirit conflict with each other (Galatians 5:17). If you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law (Galatians 5:18). We are under the law if we try to make something happen and by trying to work it out. Galatians 5:19-21 tell about those things that are the works of the flesh. Not inheriting the kingdom of God does not mean that they are going to hell. You are only responsible for the light that you have been given, and you are to seek more light.

Those who are Christ’s crucify the flesh. Galatians 5:24 says that those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh. Take an honest look at your life. What is coming out of you? Is it the work of the Spirit or the work of the flesh? You may find areas you need to work on, when you answer that question. The book of James says that we are not to deceive ourselves. Not everything that you deal with is a demon or from the devil. Sometimes it is just our flesh.

Walk in the Spirit, and you will not do the works of the flesh. Choose to walk in the Spirit. Whatever you are feeding on, is what you will get- the Spirit or the flesh.

What do you do when you sin? Do you keep focusing on the sin, or do you repent immediately? Look to Jesus and what He did rather than focusing on your mess-up. We are made worthy through Christ Jesus. Do not beat yourself up with what you have done.

If we are born-again, we are crucified and resurrected with Christ. Our flesh died at the cross. We see flesh everyday. We are reminded of it by what we do and do not do. It will tell you that it is not crucified, but our flesh is crucified by Jesus. We have to believe by faith that our flesh is crucified.

We can choose how we will react to other people. We are crucified and resurrected with Christ. Focus on walking in the Spirit and some of those flesh things will take care of themselves. We have been trained to put the flesh under. We are not to bear our cross. Jesus told His Old Covenant men to bear their crosses, but nothing of that is mentioned in the New Testament after that. We do not have to bear our crosses. Believe by faith that you are dead.

Romans 8:14 says that those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God, heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ. Romans 6:4 states that we are buried with Him through baptism. Romans 7 is about Paul’s struggle in himself, but do not let that define you. That is about what he used to be. It is about the law, but is followed by chapter 8, which is about the Christ who delivers us. We do not have to dress up (fix up) the flesh because it is dead. We must consider that we are dead because of what we believe. Fasting may clarify things, but there must be a balance in that, so we do not get into a ditch on the other side of it. Focus of the fact that we have been crucified and resurrected with Him.
